Götterdämmerung

Games which are already undergoing alpha testing may be posted here.
Forum rules
This is a recommended guideline to the testers shortlisting procedure:

1. Once alpha testing of the full game is in motion, developers may post their games here and ask for beta testers. Topic should include game name, genre, minimum tester age, freeware/shareware/donationware/whateverware, number of beta testers needed, expected beta commencement date, length of beta testing period, remuneration offered, and any other requirements/restrictions if applicable. To avoid topic stretching, please resize all screenshots to a maximum width of 500px.

2. Potential testers post back in the topic to indicate their acceptance to the terms offered, that they will be actively available for the entire beta testing period, and that they do not violate any requirements/restrictions (esp age restrictions). Only testers with a rating of 0 and above may volunteer to test shareware projects. Any remuneration haggling should be done prior to this and done through PM/email.

3. Developers may use the Tester Resumes to shortlist the tester candidates and/or seek out other testers. Once decided, the list should be posted in the topic and locked.

4. Developers should contact the admin to set up beta testing forums at least 24 hours before beta commences, preferably as soon as the shortlist has been finalised. This is an optional service that we're offering completely FOC, and will be useful particularly if you don't have your own webspace yet.

Testers are not encouraged to be testing more than one game at any given time. Better to get one positive review than two negative ones.

I am currently working on a rather long RPG project set in a slightly science fiction-ish, post-apocalyptic world (although the general atmosphere is much lighter than what you'd probably expect from a post-apocalyptic game). Screenshots, some glimpses of the story and a demo version are available on the game's website: defaultgames.de. The game features completely original music, a number of hidden minigames, an intricate plot with several twists and turns and hours of classic RPG playing time. I have already started beta testing, but I am still looking for about ten more testers to give feedback on all aspects of the game...mapping, balancing, script bugs, etc.

My testing procedure is a bit different than you might expect, so here's the deal:

The game project is currently about 15% finished and will most probably be finished around January 2010 (current play time is about 5 to 6 hours). I am uploading new beta versions about once every two, maybe three weeks (testing has already begun, we're already at the third beta version). Each new version will add at least two hours of play time, and I am looking for people willing to play through each new version and give feedback on the new stuff (meaning you would have to put in about two hours once every two weeks). Ideally I am looking for people willing to stay with the project for a while, but of course I understand that not everyone will be able to stay with the project for several months. You are of course welcome to join for a shorter period of time, and you can of course always return at a later time if you have to take some time off from beta testing. Beta testing discussion is already taking place on the defaultgames forum, so you would have to register an account there to participate.

Here are a couple screenshots to show you what you're getting yourselves into:

This will most probably not appear in the game for copyright reasons, but as my main aim is to bring the spirit of Rock'n'Roll to RPGs, I had some fun with creating acouple of album covers like this :P
